Aloe vera for inside and out

Many people know aloe as a skin savior after a sunburn or day at the beach. Some know it as a

nutritional supplement rich in antioxidants, vitamins B12, A, C, and E, and good source of magnesium and zinc. Aloe vera is antifungal, antimicrobial and antidiabetic. When taken internally, it can fight tumor growth, regulate blood sugar and boost the immune system as a multi-vitamin. Aloe has also been utilized as a weight loss supplement, likely supporting the digestive system and improving metabolism. However, the FDA has ruled that aloe should not be used in laxative products due ot a lack of safety data. Despite this, the NIH has published data show its effectiveness as a dietary supplement - so please use wisely and in moderation.

Aloe skin benefits include wound healing, rash soothing and even improving baldness! Research has shown that using aloe gel twice daily may improve acne and topical application can speed burn healing and reduce pain from burns.

Aloe grows well indoors and outside in moderate climates. It thrives in bright light and light, well-draining soil. As your aloe plant grows, continue to put it into larger containers to allow it to grow

large. As small shoots come off of your plant, pull them out and replant in a new pot - or share with a friend! To harvest, cut the bottom, largest leaves close to the stalk.
